Montserrat is generally accessible year-round. You can visit the mountain at any time of year. Most visitors come in the summer. On sunny days during school holidays and weekends, Montserrat is practically flooded with visitors. July and August are the hottest months. Spring and autumn are more pleasant in terms of temperature and visitor numbers. Winter is a much more relaxed time to visit. Keep in mind that there can be snow! Warm clothing is essential. Furthermore, you should n’t plan any hikes in winter unless you are experienced and properly equipped.

During the off-season in winter, fewer transport options run to the monastery than in summer. This is due to the lower number of visitors. The Montserrat cable car may also be closed.
